Caramelized Banana, Banana Splits!

Looking for the perfect dessert to serve on Father's Day (or any day really)? Try adding some grilled bananas to a traditional banana split. Grilling the bananas with brown sugar creates a caramelized coating that is so good! Warning though - you might never want the original version again! 

Ingredients:
bananas, one for each serving
butter
brown sugar
ice cream
hot fudge and other favorite toppings
whipped cream
cherries

To grill bananas:
  1. Preheat grill to about 400 degrees.
  2. Slice whole banana the long way in half, with skin on. 
  3. Spread butter on sliced banana and then cover with brown sugar. 
  4. Grill banana flesh side down for about 2 minutes or until caramelized. 
  5. Carefully remove banana from grill, let cool for one minute and then discard the peel and build your favorite banana split!
