Grilled Peaches and Plums with Brown Sugar

By Heather Wirtz July 31, 2012
Peaches and plums are plentiful in the Summertime.  This recipe is super-simple and delicious!  It can be served as a healthy snack or as a dessert when paired with ice cream and/or whipped cream.  My kiddos gobbled them up straight off of the grill!

Ingredients:
Fresh peaches and/or plums, washed (1 per person)
Brown sugar, as needed
Cinnamon, as needed
Olive oil, as needed

Ice cream, optional
Whipped cream, optional

Directions:
1. Cut peaches/plums in half and remove the pit.
2. Place peaches/plums in a bowl - drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with cinnamon.  Let sit at room temperature for about an hour.
3. Preheat grill.
3. Grill cut side down over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until the peach/plum has grill marks and starts to soften.
4. Turn peaches/plums over, sprinkle grilled side with brown sugar - grill for an additional 5 minutes or until sugar melts and they are tender.  Please note:  the plums will typically cook quicker than the peaches.

Instead of cutting the peaches/plums in half, you could slice them into wedges and follow the same directions.
