Healthy Through The Holidays

By Rachel Lerner, Personal Web Nutrition November 23, 2010
Cookies, cocktails and cheese...these are just a few of my favorite things.  These are also things that many seem to consume a bit more of this time of year.  It is the holiday season and a time to enjoy family and enjoy the treats of the season. That in itself is not so bad, but combine it with stress associated with the holidays and one could find themselves a big ball of nerves soon after Black Friday.   There are healthy practices we can use during the holiday season to stay healthy during this whirlwind time of year.  Rachel Lerner, Health and Wellness Coach, Founder of Personal Web Nutrition shares some tips.   How to manage your weight and stress during the holidays:

Eat Breakfast - Jump-start your metabolism in the morning. Eating a healthy breakfast packed with protein and whole-grains, such as oatmeal or eggs & whole grain toast, helps you lose weight.

Drink Water - Water is the best way to cleanse our systems and stay hydrated. Make sure to drink water when drinking alcoholic beverages.

Exercise – Maintaining your workout routine during the holidays is important because exercising helps you manage your weight and stress levels.
