Chocolate Dipped

Spoons, marshmallows and more!

November 26, 2013
Looking for a super simple way to make any party more festive? Chocolate dipped anything will do the trick!

We made marshmallows and spoons for a hot cocoa bar, but you can do the same with almost anything - pretzels, cookies, graham crackers, fruit…just to name a few!

You will need:
Marshmallows
Melting chocolate - any color and flavor
Straws or lollipop sticks, for marshmallows
Plastic or metal spoons
Candy canes - crushed
Mini chocolate chips
Mini marshmallows
Parchment paper

Directions:
Line baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.

Insert a straw 3/4 of the way through each marshmallow (we cut our straws in half), set aside.

Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl according to package directions. It is suggested to do this one flavor/color at a time and in small batches. If the chocolate you are dipping in starts to harden, reheat it in 15 second intervals.

For marshmallows - Dip one marshmallow in chocolate to coat and tap the straw/stick gently on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Place marshmallow on parchment paper and sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Repeat this process for all marshmallows. Set aside and let chocolate harden. Once the chocolate is set, the marshmallows will easily peel off of the parchment paper.

For spoons - Dip spoon in chocolate to coat, completely covering the end. Tap the spoon gently on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Place spoon on parchment paper and sprinkle with crushed candy canes, mini chocolate chips and/or mini marshmallows. Repeat this process for all spoons. Set aside and let chocolate harden. Once the chocolate is set, the spoons will easily peel off of the parchment paper.
