These are a perfect for bake sales, cookie trays and make a great holiday dessert. Want to WOW your family or dinner guests, serve them warm with some ice cream, hot fudge and caramel sauce!
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
12 tbsp butter (1 1/2 sticks), melted and cooled
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla
2 cup chocolate chips - we used 1 cup milk chocolate and 1 cup semi-sweet
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper or foil and coat with cooking spray.
- Combine flour, salt, and baking soda together in medium bowl; set aside.
- Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar in a large bowl until combined. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla; mix well.
- Add the dry ingredients into the butter/egg mixture and stir until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Press cookie dough evenly into prepared baking dish.
- Bake for approximately 28 minutes. The top will be a light golden brown and the edges will start to pull away from the side of the pan.
- Carefully remove bars by lifting the sides of the parchment paper, let cool (if you are patient enough) and then cut into squares.
