May 19, 2015
Residence Inn is committed to making travel easier for families. Last month, they proudly announced their 2015 Resident Mom, none other than the fabulous Tamera Mowry-Housley. Tamera is mom of one with another on the way, a talk show host and a very frequent traveler. Being a traveling working mother inspired her to come up with some short cuts.

Tamera shared one of her favorite super simple, "mom hack" recipes with Macaroni Kid - Tamera's Toasted Banana Bites. This recipe only takes minutes to make and uses only 5 ingredients that you likely have on hand! Did I mention it is healthy too??

Tamera's Toasted Banana Bites

Ingredients:
  • 2 large bananas
  • 1 cup of oats (quick or regular - if you use regular you will need to chop them a little so it holds the cookies together better)
  • 1 handful of chocolate chips (raisins or dried cranberries if your kids like those)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Directions:
  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Smash the bananas and then mix them together with the oats. Too runny? Add  more oats.
  • Add the coconut flakes, chia seeds, and a handful of chocolate chips. (raisins or dried cranberries). Be sure not to add too much of these goodies or the cookies won't hold together.
  • Tablespoon the mix onto a greased cooking pan, spaced apart.
  • Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes and enjoy these healthy bites!
