With less than a week until Christmas, it is crunch time... if you are like me, you don't have much extra time to breathe, forget about trying to make and decorate cookies. Well, here is a simple solution that everyone will love - plus if you are up for it, it is a great recipe for kids to help with too! Or if your kiddos are old enough, with a little direction, they can do this 100% on their own! P.S. - It could make great teachers gifts too, just put a few pieces in a baggie with a pretty bow and a thank you card.
Ingredients:
Sugar cookie dough, 1 or 2 batches, enough for between 24-32 cookies
6 candy canes, crushed
1/4 - 1/2 mini chocolate chips
Cooking spray
Parchment paper
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Line sheet pan with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray.
3. Press cookie dough onto sheet pan. Dough should be pressed as evenly and thinly as possible.
4. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips and crushed candy canes on top of cookie dough.
5. Lightly press chocolate chips and candy canes into dough with the palm of your hand.
6. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until it starts to brown.
7. Let cool completely and then break into pieces.
8. Enjoy now or store in an airtight container until ready to serve!
