Fresh Strawberry & Angel Food Cake Trifle

Strawberries + Chocolate + Angel Food Cake + Whipped Topping = Perfection! 

This perfect dessert is great for a crowd and is sure to impress your family and friends. And a secret between you and me... this dessert can be made with absolutely NO cooking or baking!

Ingredients:

Angel Food Cake - store bought or homemade, cut into bite size pieces

2 pounds fresh strawberries, washed, trimmed and sliced

24 oz whipped topping, thawed

1 cup mini chocolate chips, plus some for garnish

Chocolate sauce


Directions:

  1. Place half of the angel food cake into the bottom of a trifle bowl.
  2. Top cake with about half of the strawberries, 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and drizzle with chocolate sauce.                                                                                                                 
  3. Spread about 12 oz of the whipped topping on top of the strawberries and chocolate chips.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3, reserving a few strawberries for garnish. The top layer of whipped topping should completely cover the surface.
  5. Decorate top with a few diced strawberries, mini chocolate chips and chocolate sauce. 
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
