Craft a Snack: Rice Cake Owls, Bears, and Fish…Oh My!

In the kitchen with kids

By Charlotte Linde September 18, 2018

Welcome to our monthly feature called Craft a Snack, the place where we get messy and play with our food in the kitchen!

Kids bored and hungry? No worries, let's get craftin' and snackin'!

This month we had fun with rice cakes to create cute animals using the following toppings:

  • Peanut butter
  • Chocolate hazelnut spread
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Bananas
  • Peanuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • White chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Set out a bunch of fun ingredients from the pantry and fridge and place it all out on the table. Let the kids smear the peanut butter and hazelnut spread on the rice cakes and watch their imagination go wild. You could even do a savory version with avocado, cherry tomatoes, and black olives. (Think avocado toast). Mix it up and use up what you have in the pantry and/or fridge to make even more fun creations. Anything goes!

Prep Time:

  • 10 minutes
