Craft a Snack: Donut Fun

Cooking in the kitchen with kids

By Charlotte Linde December 18, 2018

Welcome to our monthly feature called Craft a Snack -- the place where we get messy and play with our food in the kitchen!

Kids bored and hungry? No worries, let's get craftin' and snackin'!

Donut Fun!

Having fun in the kitchen and letting the kids craft their own snacks is not only fun, but it will also most likely ensure that they will eat them! This month we've put together a couple of fun ways to eat donuts!

What we used:

  • Mini donuts
  • String licorice
  • Mini Reeses
  • Caramel creams
  • Sixlets
  • Pretzels
  • Gummies
  • Mini chocolate morsels

Directions:

For the snowman, we used powdered sugar donuts for the body, licorice for the scarf, gummy for the nose, mini chocolate morsels for his mouth and eyes, Sixlets for his buttons, and a cut caramel cream and mini Reeses for his hat.

For the reindeer, we used broken pretzels for the antlers, a Sixlet for the nose, and the cream from the caramel for his eyes.

Use what you have in the house and let the kids get creative. You'd be surprised what they come up with.
