Celebrate March Madness with Meatballs!

So, what’s in your snack-it bracket? We know what's in ours!

A month full of basketball calls for a freezer full of quick game-time snacks and this March Madness we are celebrating with Farm Rich Meatballs! We love that Farm Rich Meatballs are microwavable, pack 11 grams of protein per serving, and are made with wholesome ingredients, including hearty ground beef and savory pork. Farm Rich Meatballs can be enjoyed as fast snacks, quick meals and are great for having during casual get-togethers and game time. They’re what we like to call a slam dunk!

Here are 7 creative ways to enjoy Farm Rich Meatballs and liven up the menu on game-day, or any day. 

Cheese-Meatball-Burger Sliders

This is a quick and inexpensive way to make a large quantity of sliders for a crowd!

Ingredients:

  • Farm Rich Homestyle Meatballs
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • ½ cup of mustard
  • 1 Tbsp dried onion
  • Farm Rich Crispy Dill Pickles
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Hawaiian slider rolls (we used 2 packages)

Directions:

  • Cook Farm Rich Meatballs in a pan according to package directions and add ketchup, mustard, and dried onion.
  • Cook Farm Rich Crispy Dill Pickles according to directions. 
  • Assemble sliders, top with 1/4 cheese slice, crispy pickle, meatball, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomato.

Grape Chili Meatballs in a Blanket

This meatball, all wrapped up nice and cozy, will keep your company nice and cheerful while snacking and rooting for their favorite teams. You might want to make a double batch because these will disappear fast!

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cook your Farm Rich Grape & Chili Sauced Meatballs according to directions and reserve sauce for dipping. 
  2. Wrap each of your meatballs in crescent dough and bake until lightly golden following baking directions on dough package.
  3. Serve with reserved sauce.  


Meatball BLT Skewers with Mashed Potatoes

We used the Sweet Onion Jam Sauced Meatballs with Bacon, along with fresh ingredients, to create a hearty taste in one bite!

Ingredients:

  • Farm Rich Sweet Onion Jam Sauced Meatballs with Bacon
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Bacon slices
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Toothpicks

Directions:

  1. Cook your Farm Rich Sweet Onion Jam Sauced Meatballs with Bacon according to directions. Reserve sauce for dipping. 
  2. Cook 6 slices of bacon as directed on packaging. When cooked, slice bacon into squares.
  3. On the plate, start with a dollop of mashed potatoes. Slide a meatball, basil leaf, piece of bacon, and cherry tomato onto a toothpick. Insert the end of the toothpick into mashed potatoes so the ingredients stand upright, and serve.


 Meatballs Wrapped in Bacon

Oink if you love bacon! Using the Sweet Onion Jam Sauced Meatballs with Bacon, we put together this savory and sweet appetizer. Guests will love the deliciousness of the sweet onion sauce with the charred and smoky bacon. The cherry tomato gives this a fresh finish!

Ingredients:

  • Farm Rich Sweet Onion Jam Sauced Meatballs with Bacon
  • Bacon
  • Cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • Toothpicks

Directions:

  1. Slice the bacon in half.
  2. Wrap the meatballs in a half slice of bacon and hold together with a toothpick.
  3. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 20 minutes.
  4. Take out of the oven and add cherry tomato.

Meatball Reuben Bites

All the flavor of a Reuben sandwich in a small tapas!

Ingredients:

  • 24 Farm Rich Homestyle Meatballs
  • 1 ½ cup sauerkraut
  • ½ cup Thousand Island dressing
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds
  • Sliced Swiss cheese
  • Sliced pumpernickel rye bread
  • Sliced pickles (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cook meatballs according to directions on package. 
  2. In small bowl, add sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing and caraway seeds. Mix well and set aside. 
  3. Cut slices of bread into small squares. (About 6 squares per slice.)
  4. Cut slices of swiss cheese to fit squares of bread. 
  5. Heat sauerkraut mixture for one minute in the microwave. 
  6. Assemble on serving plate: Piece of bread, slice of cheese, cooked meatball, spoonful of sauerkraut mixture, and top with pickle or another slice of bread. Skewer with a toothpick to hold together. Enjoy!


Broccoli Slaw and Grape Chili Meatball Sub


Use these Grape & Chili Sauced Meatballs to make a sandwich that is easy to assemble and delicious to taste!

Ingredients:

  • Farm Rich Grape & Chili Sauced Meatballs
  • Broccoli slaw
  • 1/2 cup peanut salad dressing
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • Hot dog buns or hoagie rolls

Directions:

  1. Cook Farm Rich Grape & Chili Sauced Meatballs according to directions on package.
  2. Mix broccoli slaw, peanut salad dressing, sliced almonds, and dried cranberries.
  3. On a hot dog (or hoagie) bun , scoop broccoli slaw mixture.
  4. Arrange meatballs on top.
  5. Serve and enjoy!


Deconstructed Loaded Baked Potato Bites


We took the classic loaded potato skins (Farm Rich makes those too!) and created a bite-size, deconstructed appetizer that will win over your guests!

Ingredients:

  • Farm Rich Grape & Chili Sauced Meatballs
  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Toothpicks
  • Basil, sliced 
  • Russet Potato 

Directions:

  1. Cook the Farm Rich Grape & Chili Sauced Meatballs according to directions and reserve sauce to drizzle.
  2. Cut half of a Russet Potato, cube, add salt and pepper and roast on 375' for 30 minutes
  3. Quarter the cheddar cheese and cherry tomatoes.
  4. With a toothpick, arrange as shown in the picture (from bottom to top: potato, meatball, cheese, tomato).
  5. Drizzle the sauce on top and sprinkle with basil.
